The Appellants appeared in the District Court of Rombo
District at Mkuu on a charge of Robbery c/s 285 and 286 of the Penal Code as
amended by Act No. 10 of 1989. They were convicted and each sentenced to thirty
years’ imprisonment. Aggrieved by the decision, they preferred an appeal to the
High Court of Tanzania at Moshi where their appeal was dismissed. Their grounds
among others in this appeal is that, the lower courts were wrong to rely on a
confession statement made by the first Appellant.
